Hi,

I'm designing a wall for a tank and would like to know if anyone has a copy of

"Moments and Reactions for Rectangular Plates" from the Bureau Reclamation. The relevant sheet would be the one with the triagular distributed load.

Much appreciated.

ataman,

you should ask them to get a copy. No engineering office should be without a copy of 'Roarkes stress and strains'.

There's several cases of walls with triangular loads depending on fixity and the height of the load proportion to the height of plate.
As far as Roark, a lot of the plate cases are taken from the Bureau tables. And they don't always get the maximum reaction, depending on their assumptions. So be careful.
