I remember their being "another" method to determine the preconsolidaton pressure, other than Casagrande's emprical construction method. Either this method is commonly used in Brazil or the person who developed the method is Brazillian. ANyways, this method doesn't rely on picking the point of maximum curvature by eye, its more mathematically based. I think the method is called the Pashako Silva(??) method.
