I have a technical question about diferences beetwen SA-387 Gr 22 Cl 1 / SA-387 Gr Cl2.

I read ASME SEC II-A, and I didn´t found some informetion about diferences beetween classes.

I apreciete your help, and I aprecite you tell me where i can read in some code or standard about diferences beetween classes?

Section II can be notoriously silent on the specifics of heat treatment.

The lesser spotted Class 2 refers to quench-and-temper condition. Review the mechanical properties table for differences.

These are fundamentally different alloys. Grade 12 is 1% Cr 0.5% Mo while Grade 22 is 2.25% Cr 1% Mo. You should read the ASME or ASTM material spec for this type of information.

See Table 2 and Table 3 in SA-387. Table 2 is for Class 1 plates, Table 3 for Class 2.

Thanks to everybody for anSwer. I already reviewed table 2 and table 3 in SA-387.
