What are the comparative advantages/disadvantages of tube diameters in DX systems?
like why use 3/8" or 1/2" tubes?

Thnx

Depends on how much refrigerant you are trying to get through the pipework and pressure drops, more refrigerant requires larger pipework.

true, but u can control those perimiters.

like if u want to go for a 5 tons DX cond-evap u can go to a 3/8 coil with less loading on each coil, or a 1/2 coil with more loading on each coil....
