Hello.

I have a spreadsheet inherited from somebody else. When I go to set a border, with the color set as "automatic," the border shows up as gray.

I've looked but can't figure out why "automatic" is gray rather than the default of black.

Any help??

Hello,

As a rough guess, this maybe something to do with the settings in CONTROL PANEL.

Hope this helps.

the border may be gridlines?

from the Tools-Options menu, select appropriate tab (think general) and observe choice for gridlines.

It was the gridlines.

They were set to gray and the border was following. Setting them back to "auto" made the borders go back to black.

Thanks.
