When including an excel function ( say the exponent e ^ (argument) ) in a cell expression, the cell contents has this annoying feature "mailto:.....", which takes you direct to outlook mail express when clicking on the cell.
Is it possible to disable this feature and leave it as a plain math expression ?

Thanks for that @3DDave.
On my version of Excel, the autocorrect function is in the Tools Tab - Options. Following the procedure suggested in the page you sent didnt work when I deselected the required checkbox. When I typed in "disable autocorrect hyperlink", and followed the suggested procedure, it worked, the mailto: disappeared.
Thanks a heap for this

I haven't had a problem when including "^", only when using "@". Disabling that autocorrect feature means that then if you do need links they will have to be input manually. It's probably a good trade-off.

It's only like 3 extra clicks, so sure. Nevertheless, you can open up the Autocorrect options box, type in the "^" and see if something pops up as the thing that replaces the "^" and delete it from Autocorrect, which would allow you to turn back on the automatic hyperlink insertion

TTFN (ta ta for now)

There doesnt seem to be a global disable for this weird hyperlink whenever one calls up an @ function, since the the Tools-Autocorrect Options - deselect hyperlink checkbox feature doesnt seem to work. Looks like I have to disable this individually for every @ function used.
This annoying feature was not there in earlier editions of Excel.

@irstuff
I called up a new blank sheet now and typed in an @exp() function in one cell and an @ln() in another, and this hyperlink feature hasn't popped up in either. In this new sheet I have deselected the hyperlink checkbox under Tools-AutoCorrect Options. All good now, so I dont have to clear out the hyperlink individually. Thats a relief.

Got that, 3DDave. Grew up on 123 - old habit, I'm afraid.
Correction: The path to disable this feature in Excel is Tools - AutoCorrect Options - AutoFormat as you Type.
Once deselected, Excel applies this deselection to all new workbooks.
