From the news:

"One person is dead and five others remain unaccounted for after an explosion at a building in Ottawa's south end Thursday.

The explosion and major fire at Eastway Tank on Merivale Road sent three people to hospital, including two in critical condition. One of those people has since died, police said Friday morning."

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

So what's your wild ass guess as to what would explode at a factory that makes tanker-trucks and would be that forceful?

1) If they make new ones they shouldn't be messing with any trucks contaminated with hazardous products. (Like a repair facility certainly would.

2) Acetylene? With stainless and aluminium tanks they probably wouldn't have Acetylene involved.

3) Would they have a boiler at a place like that?

4) Would they have a reactive tank of cleaner they'd dip entire finished tanks into?

I'm just glad those tanks did not go up.
The closest one looks like an internal floating roof storage tank, most likely storing gasoline or jet fuel.

Repair gone wrong?
Enclosed, heated space. It was cold in Ottawa.
Tank vapours and an ignition point, or welding spark?
