Hello,
I have came across attached detail and was wondering what everyones thoughts were on it.
There is a requirement to add an additional strip beside an existing strip as they are looking to extend upwards thus increasing load. This foundation is currently on party wall between garages (only party wall houses share is the garage wall).
Now there is currently a suspended slab being supported from this foundation and the drawings for this job show cutting slab back, installing foundation then reinstating slab. Would this be correct way of doing this as I have never seen this situation before, I would of thought as soon as you cut away slab from support its lost all support and would be unsupported at one side.
Hope I have explained well enough, thanks for any help.
