About what size generator can be leased for $1000/day? Let's say 460V, details are not important. And about how much would that same generator cost if purchased outright? Very rough numbers are fine, just trying to get a feel for the order of magnitude.

Great, thanks! Looks like a 500KW generator runs $1K/day. Any chance you have a similar source for the cost of purchasing a 500KW generator outright? I'm not going to have access to my Means books for a while, away from work.

OK, looks like 500KW generators on sale on eBay, used and wide spread in pricing, but useful, nonetheless.

These guys provided excellent temperary service. I didn't get involved with cost, but they did give out a lot of baseball caps
