Hello all. I would like to know if someone has a document of some sorts, that goes thru the steps of the GMPDL package. We have looked on GMsupplyPower, and have not found what we need. Does anyone know where else to look?
English preferred, Italian 2nd choice.
thanks.

To give the obvious answer...
Why not ask your contact with GM?
You'll find that GMNA, SAAB, Opel etc all do things a slightly different way, plus they're at different stages of introducing or using checkmate at present so you need to get specific advice for the site your working with.

My advice is to begin by asking for a list of their common acronyms the documentation is otherwise unreadable. They write with the assumption that you will understand their jargon.

Hope this helps

for the GM PDL Doc / functions
look in the gmpdl\data folders there are doc folders in the subfolders of each function.
For your info the base toolkit is distributed py UGS...

Thanks, both of you. We will give this a shot, and I will foward this thread to the ppl that have access and webkeys. I do not have such access.
Thanks again.

Have you looked in the "infoBook" application in Supplypower? or just under the general engineering folders.

I personally didn't discover the InfoBook section for a week or so. But it has a lot of if not all the information that you need to know to get going with GM's stuff.

If you can be more specific on exactly what your looking for I might be able to point you in the right direction.

The "infobook" has step by step process for when you get the EWO to submitting your model/drawing into the system or via autoweb

Hi Rob. thanks. No, "i" havnt looked into infobook/supplypower. i dont have access. i will pass your info to my GM guys, they do have access. what i actually need, is a step by step guide, to upload, and pdi, data to GM tce. like filling out the log file, (w/ correct upc,fna stuff), and running checkmate. we do have the docs for checkmate.
but im trying to get info to our plant in italy, that was just connected to GM. i guess i could even create a ppt w/ all of the steps, but i was looking for a shortcut. (that any good designer would do) :)
i will update this thread when i hear back.
thanks.

Not all of the file log has to be filled out, depending on your part and the GM engineer. There used to be a Word document in the Toolkit directory, as mentioned previously. I'm fairly certain the file log was covered in that document. There might even be a copy of GM1825, which outlines some other GM requirements.

Some people are like slinkies....they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Hello all, I found access, and what i was looking for. Thanks.
on another note, I also searched other threads posted here, for the same subject, but different wording. ie: toolkit, and gmdcs. Pls keep informing us, less informed. Your doing a great job.
