I am trying to cool a linear electric motor. I want do design a custom water cooled heat sync into the support structure. The linear motor would be bolted to this with thermal paste between. Here is my basic question:
Is it better to have a flow path in one direction across the part? Better to wind back and forth in the same plane? Wind back and forth between different layers of the heat sync? I'd like the temperature of the cooled plate to be as uniform as possible, as the linear motor performance drops due to uneven temperature distribution.
