I am trying to find a Heater Band for a pressure vessel that can go up to >700F. I wanted to know if there is any kind of a band that is temperature controllable. Can I maintain 700F for a few hrs?

Thanks!

They have some for barrels to go up to 900 deg F.

You will need two temperature sensors, one on the heating element and one on the fluid you are controlling. A simple proportional/inegral controller should easily control the temperature indefinitely and the temperature sensor on the heating element will have a setpoint equal to the max allowable temperature on the heating element which will act to shutdown the power when the temp reaches or exceeds that maximum. Thermal cutoff switches are sometimes built into the heater which would obviate the need for the element sensor.

I use inductive heat band types around drums: one thing to consider is the uniformity of heat transfer in your vessel.

If the liquid to be heated is impressively dense and static inside the vessel, then you might have to contend with "Heat Affected Zones" where the material is over heated in certain spots. I'd recommend that you find a way to slowly circulate the liquid inside the vessel during heat application, if not already.
