How did you apply your non-shrink grout?

I have unsuccessfully applied non-shrink grout to a 10mm gap under the base plate. We put water on the pail and put the grout.. we stirred them until they were flowable consistency.. then we poured it on the form works inlet (with outlets for air to go out) around the base plate. As we poured it.. the heavy part very quickly settled and only the very liquid part was on top of the pail. The next day when I removed the form works.. there are voids and it was so soft that we were able to remove it by bar.

Did you use electric stirrer to mix it or by hand.. when you first tried it.. were you successful? What technique did you use?

I'll ask sika.. but important question. Is non-shrink grout purpose more of levelling the column and not because the concrete mortar can't be put and polished at the surface of the pedestal with full contact accuracy with base plate? We have a chance to remove the base plate and steel tomorrow to remove the bad grout that can't be removed by sticking pointed object thru the 10mm gap. So if I'll have concrete mortar directly applied to the surface of the pedestal with a 10mm formwork elevation. I'm not sure if the surface can be polished or finished with levelling bar for full base plate contact.. theoretically is this possible? or is there always micro curvature in the surface that makes it not possible.. something that only non-shrink grout can do.. that is complete contact at the molecular level?

Just provided a comment in the other forum discussing grouts. I used Embeco grout on a least two projects which required very large load transfers. This grout has iron filings which causes the mix to expand.
