How to calculate uplift loads?

I am drawing a patio cover and need help calculating the uplift load. Can some one help me?

You need IBC. Also call the building official and ask what the wind speed and category. IBC will explain everything.
 
I have an IRC is it explained in there?
 
What is it listed under in the IBC? Maybe I can find it in the IRC.
 
Uplift is calculated via formulas spelled out in the Wind sections of IBC/IRC/ or ASCE 7. Short of doing the math for you, you should have all you need except for what COEngineer mentioned.
