Hi,

what is the equation to determine the hoops stress that a pipe is operating in?
Is there any thing from your experience that I need to bear in mind when using the equation to determine the hoops stress and compare to see how many percent of SMYS that is?

Thanks a million!

I didn't mean anything I said to be insulting, just a realistic apprasial. If you want to seriously do something about that and try to learn something, now's your chance. We are here because we like helping newbies and anyone else that needs a hand from time to time. We just don't like the "push the button and get the answer" attitude, because that never has and never will be the way to become a successful engineer.

Alright, apologize that I am just sharing what a 1st year engineer did in this fabrication yard in finding hoop stress ratio to SMYS for our hydrostatic test. Coz mainly, we received everything from a consultant.

BigInch, noted with thanks, but I guess to personally attack my career wise by what I am honestly shared (and not google and paste), definitely insulting. At least, for me.

I'll leave it here. Thanks everyone.

OK. Sorry then. You wrote it in the first person, "But one thing I did is using Caesar II".
