we have an old hp4mv printer. we currently have probably about 10,000 AutoCAD plot files written to it. in a few years when this printer craps out are we screwed to the point of sitting down and re plot filing all of these drawings one by one? has anyone been through a similar situation?

or... is there any documentation that will tell me what if any new printers out there will be compatible with our current files?

regards,

JM

You have two choices I can think of off the top of my head. 1. export .pdfs of all the files; a .pdf is printable on any plotter. 2. find a batch utility program that will automatically write over whatever has to be written over in the plot files (APLOT might be able to help, not too sure, though).
