Hi, HVAC Engineering Community. For years, I have been developing "HVAC Widgets" to perform repetitive calculations. I put them on my webpage so I could easily access them from anywhere and thought I was the only one using them. A few years ago, at an ASHRAE meeting, someone offhandedly said, "I use the Air Mixing Calculator on your website all the time". I was floored. I checked the analytics, and he was not the only one. It turned out hundreds of people were using these calculators every month. And today, there are thousands of people from all over the world every month using these HVAC Calculators.

The HVAC Calculators are helpful, practical, relevant, and hopefully fun and easy to use. Take a look to see if they can help you with your HVAC Designs. I am always open to feedback

Here are some of the HVAC Calculators I use the most:

[li]Air Change Rate Calculator[/li]
[li]Air Mixing Calculator **Most Popular**[/li]
[li]Condensate Pump and Dehumidifier Size Calculator[/li]
[li]Cooling Load (Sanity) Check[/li]
[li]Duct Size Calculator[/li]
[li]Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Hood[/li]
[li]Psychrometric Calculator[/li]
[li]Wind Pressure on Mechanical Equipment[/li]

Thanks for sharing your work.
These are helpful for quick calcs but for large processing there exist macro functions that can be embedded in MS Excel.
One of my feedback is the use of l/h unit for air flow rate. This does assume a constant air density of 1, which is not always correct when various temperatures and elevations are considered in a design. This does add complexity to the calculation and is covered in ASHRAE handbook.

* Finding a solution is great * Knowing how to implement it is fantastic * Believing it is the only one and best is naive ?

Thanks, a lot of these are helpful. Don’t take this as criticism, I’m thankful for anyone who takes the time to make others lives easier for free.

Feedback on two of them

The air change calculator - often we need to do the calc in reverse (we know airflow and room size - what air change is the room getting). So if the calc could do it both ways that would be great

On the psych lookup - sometimes you have DB and RH for example. So there was a way to make greater flexibility to input whichever two knowns you have it would make it more useful.

Hi GT-EGR,

I really appreciate any feedback to make these calculators better.

Regarding the Psychrometric Calculator, I agree. I wanted additional input flexibility, but so far I haven't been able to figure out the programming. I will keep working on it :)

Regarding the Air Change Rate Calculator. You can enter either your known airflow or OR known ACH. The screenshot below shows the dropdown menu where you can select either airflow or ACH.

Thanks again for your feedback :)

I have started adding Demonstration Videos for these calculators if you're interested [peace]

Also, if you find yourself doing the same calculation over and over again. Let me know - maybe I will make a calculator to accomplish that task!

Thanks for checking out my stuff!
