Does anyone know the best way to import Nastran SET data, example:

SET 1 = 7200001,7200412,7201617 THRU 7201619,
7201623 THRU 7201626,7202184 THRU 7202186,
7202188,7202254,7206841 THRU 7206848,
7212651 THRU 7212658,7218824 THRU 7218831,
7224882 THRU 7224889,7224906 THRU 7224936

into femap, As a group or something like that?

Hi

Unfortunately I have no direct solution. But out of curiosity, what is the purpose for doing it?

Sorry I did not respond sooner! for some reason I cant get alerts to responses to my thread posts on this website.

I eventually made an excel VBA script and got it to work.

Basically I only have a Nastran bulk data file that I want to import into femap. These sets were specifically requested for outputs and I wanted to make a visible group in femap for visualization.

can't you import the analysis model and then make groups of elements ?

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

To make the groups, I would have to type in the element IDs in the set one by one. I was hoping for a more efficient solution.

there are many ways to select elements for groups, entering individual element numbers is possibly the last way.

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

Yes its the most sucky way. I was looking for a better way given the SET identification in the bulk data.
