I've been asked to size I-joists for an interior wood framed mezzanine. The mezzanine
is about 32' x 75ft, with 2-interior bearing walls, and joists are spanning the 25ft direction.
Design live load is 75psf. The top of the plywood mezzanine deck is 11 ft aff. The client is planning
on covering both sides of the walls with 1/2" sheetrock. It is in a low seismic area the mezzanine
loads are not dynamic. They are now asking me to stamp a drawing of the mezzanine.
Should I require some portion of the walls to be plywood, or think the sheetrock would be adequate/code compliant ?
Thanks
