Interpart expressions within a part family

I'm trying to use an interpart expression in a Part family. I can see the expression listed as User Defined but on opening the Part family dialogue I can't see it or find it.
Am I doing something wrong, can I even use interpart expressions within a part family?

Hello All,

As I've not received any advice perhaps I need to explain myself a little better.

The part family I'd like to create has a child component from which I have created an interpart expression - "TCG01000462694/A":ia and then the expression 'Clip_Dia' uses this as a formula.
When I open Part Families I cannot see either expression listed. Should I be able to and if so what am I doing wrong?

For info, I'm using NX6.0.5.3 and Teamcenter 8.3.1

Did you looked into customer defaults :
Assemblies - General - Interpart Modeling?
What check box is active by Allow Associative Interpart Modeling?

Hello Michael,

Just checked and the Allow Associative Interpart Modeling 'Yes' radio button is active. Allow Promote Body is also ticked.

And the tab next to Interpart Modeling = Product interfaces,
there is a pull down menu, Interpart Linking, should stated "Allow Selection of Any Geometry or Expression"

Yes, Interpart Linking is showing 'Allow Selection of Any Geometry or Expression.

Hello!

got the same problem. All necessary boxes are checked, but I can´t see the relevant expressions while choosing the parameters for the partfamily.
It´s not a problem to link the dimension via [Diameter1="Part1/-":iameter] in the Expressionsmenu. But how do I insert this into the partfamily excel sheet?
