Lateral/Horizontal Loads on Foundations. Book recommendations with worked examples

Can someone could please recommend a foundation engineering book or any other text that details horizontal loads on shallow and deep foundations and includes worked examples?
I know how to calculate the wind and seismic loads and apply them to the footings. I don't know the mechanics of the footing action under these horizontal loads
I deal with this all the time at work and just enter the horizontal loads into ENERCALC. I would lover to understand the mechanics behind it.
