I copied a sheet and replaced it as the first view. Then in my note I added <W@$SH_SHEET_NUMBER> now the first sheet displayed in the order is sheet 6. to clarify I have them listed

sheet 1 (says sheet 6)
sheet 2 (says sheet 1)
sheet 3 (says sheet 2)
sheet 4 (says sheet 3)
sheet 5 (says sheet 4)
sheet 6 (says sheet 5)

Which version of NX?
Have you tried to update the session?

I closed NX and opened the file again. I use NX-6.

Hi,

Did you rename the sheets? NX remembers Sheet number as they are created .. Meaning, Creation Order is followed.. I guess Sheet 2 was first sheet , Sheet 1 is the last sheet , but renamed to Sheet 1..

I'd say that it is as NXsupport mentions only responding to the creation order of the sheets. In cases where this currently goes wrong for us we simply revert to manual text. It may be disappointing but it is far more efficient than having to recreate your drafting content.

It seems like this has come up before. If I remember correctly, someone said they opened an ER (or is it PR?). Anyway, if you search for old threads you may find more info and possibly a workaround.

I was asked the same question and this is what I found on GTAC. Key to note here is "order of creation".

PR Number : 6115832

The problem where the sheet Part Navigator order or sheet Properties do not match the title block sheet number has been converted to an Enhancement Request. The sheet number provided by adding "<W@$SH_SHEET_NUMBER>" in the note text refers to the order of creation of a sheet in a part. This number cannot currently be edited.

I ran into this problem several years ago when I wrote a grip to add/manipulate dwg sheets. I got around the problem via using the sht name vs sht number (IIRC). I'll do some digging in my archives for more info if desired...

I would be interested on learning how to set this up in the first place and the work around. We are manually putting the sheet numbers in the title block.

We are currently using NX 7.0 and I know very little about setting up title blocks.

Thanks

One thing you can do, although tedious, is this;
Say you have 10 sheets...
1. Create 10 new, blank sheets
2. Go to the sheet you want to be first, copy all the contents and paste it in the FIRST new blank sheet.
3. Repeat this copy and paste effort until you have copied all 10 sheets in the order you want.
4. Once you are satisifed with the 10 new sheets, delete the original, out of order sheets.
5. all will now be well...
