Hi,

I am looking for miniature smoke detector chips.

Most smoke detectors I found (optical, ionization, or both) are in hand-sized enclosures, but I am looking for one much smaller sensor/chip, around 1x1 inch.

Is this technically feasible?
Anyone experienced with smoke detectors?

Thank you.

Not completely impossible, but I doubt there's anything directly off the shelf, but there is this:

Damned, it appears that what I am looking for does not exist.

All the smoke/fire detectors are much larger. I suppose the manufacturers have no incentive to miniaturize them, even though it should be technically possible.

It depends on what the application is, and how much anyone is willing to pay to do something. The aforementioned detector can be connected to an Arduino or other processor for the actual counting and statistics part.

This guy: apparently builds his own for whatever reason. shows some of his results.

Thank you IRstuff

Do you know any company well suited to develop this, since it does not exist?

No, not specifically. I posted earlier is all I know about this.
