I'm looking at picking my grandson up a new monitor; he uses it for gaming. Which is likely the best option:
a 144 Hz refresh rate and a brightness of 400 cd/m2 and a colour saturation of 72 NTSC, or
a 165 Hz refresh rate and a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and a colour saturation of 85 NTSC.

Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Mine too... but my son assures me that it's not for gamers... different type of critter.

The gamers that I know are running three monitors, large center with slightly smaller L&R ones. It gets rid of the middle line.
The real problem isn't the 120Hz, it is that 4ms is g-t-g, changes between colors is the real issue.
The biggest latency is still the network.
