Hello,

Is there a way to turn off auto regenerate? I use a local copy of NX11 and it works fine.
But when using a customers TeamCenter version, when I just move the cursor over the assembly it starts regenerating the whole assembly (turning every component one at a time magenta more than once), which takes a few minutes or more pending the size.
It also does the same thing when in drafting and I move my cursor over a tabulation block.
I have compared my local settings and there's and can not seem to turn this off. It is a huge time constraint!!!

Thank you in advance if you are able to help,
Todd

Hi Jerry,
Unfortunately that does not help me with turning off the automatic regenerate.
I believe that facet setting is more geared towards a model looking ruff rather than smooth, which I am aware of already.
Thank you though for trying to assist me with my problem.

I'm not sure what is causing it, but here are a few things that I'd check:
Faceting - if the faceting resolution has been cranked up, it can delay view operations such as shading and highlighting (preferences -> visualization -> faceting). Here are the options I suggest starting with:
facet scale - view
resolution - standard
refinement factor - 1
update - visible objects
align facets along edges - on
I think the faceting preferences are part specific, so you'll need to save the part after making changes.

Also check the selection preferences (preferences -> selection); if the faceting options above don't help, try turning off some of the "highlight" options.

NX also has options for "selection priority", if this is set to "component" - NX might try to pre-select the entire component when you roll over it. I have my selection priority set to "feature", it seems to work well in most cases.

I think what you are showing is the "Highlight Selection on Rollover"

try unchecking this preference
File >> Preferences >> Selection... (Ctrl + Shift + T)

I am unable to play the video, but i would guess that you are running a computer where NX doesn't recognize the graphics adapter, OR it is a computer without a graphics adapter.
That typically gives this kind of "flashing".
Or, is this a remote connection computer ? - Even if that computer has a valid graphics adapter, it will not be used when on Remote connection. ( by default)
I don't know if it is possible to enable graphics support for remote connection.
I have seen Citrix solutions where the graphics is ok.

In NX, open the logfile
file-help -nx logfile, search for "graphics device"
If it says "GDI Generic" NX isn't using any graphics adapter. ( It should say something similar to "Quadro xxxx")

Regards,
Tomas

Thanks guys!!!!!
Between Cowski's post and Apekas, I was able to fix the problem!
It was very painful to work in those conditions. Toost, it is a remote VM but I did not have to change anything on the graphics.
I simply unchecked the rollover and turned down my faceting settings and it works much much! BETTER!

Thanks again guys!!!
