Ok, maybe not a disaster as such, but the para glider (NOT a parachutist) attempted to fly into the Allianz arena last night before the game. I think he might have been simply trying to drop a big yellow football, but apparently lost power. But if that lot had actually landed inside the stadium on some spectators.... Or the players warming up. As it was bits of his propeller shield fell off narrowly missing the French manager.

I do wish they would get it right and stop saying he "parachuted" in. He didn't He flew in in a paraglider.

Lots of videos around but this is one of the better ones
Pictures here are extensive and show the para glider using what seems to be a battery powered back back to glide in over the top of the arena.

Problem was he found out there was a set of wires hanging from the roof which run to the little overhead camera these places now all have and very nearly lost control.

The kit looks really quite interesting though as being green peace protesting about Oil, it looks like a set of batteries?

He'll burn in hell for this because all stadiums are strictly verboten to fly over during activities without written permission from the AHJ.

But if this is true:

Then didn't he transition from "flying a paraglider" to "parachuting" at some point?

Well there are stories about that say he nearly got shot, but yes, those wires would have been very difficult to see and hopefully so anyone else trying that.

Jumping into stadiums is a fraught process as the wind does strange things and you have no height left to recover.

And no. That thing is a paraglider with or without power,

A powered paraglider seems to be an oxymoron. At what point does it become an ultralight aircraft?

The irony of so many oil related products, required to deliver this Green Piece to his destination, including the inflatable ball.

At least his main fan looked electric.
