possible to WAVE link Spline?

If one creates a spline "Thru Points", then is it possible to WAVE link this spline out to another part? It seems like none of the available options (ie: Composite Curve) for Type in the WAVE link menu make this possible.

One could project the spline into a Sketch, which is then WAVE linked, but that seems roundabout.

Thanks.

I had no problems whatsoever creating a WAVE-linked Composite Curve in one component by selecting a Spline Through Points created in another component using NX 6.0.2.8.

Exactly what is it that you can't do?

I ask this because you asked...

"...is it possible to WAVE link this spline out to another part?

If you mean this literally, I think I see your problem. When you're attempting to create a WAVE-linked Composite Curve (or any WAVE-linked object for that matter), the current Work part MUST be the Component INTO which you wish the new WAVE-linked feature to be created. Therefore you are Wave-linking IN from another part, the part which, in this case, contains the original Spline through points.

I hope that is all that it was, a simple misunderstanding of the relationship between where the new Composite Curve will be created versus where the original Spline was located and which file is the Work part and which is NOT.

You can export a copy and loose the relationship if you wish, but otherwise if I understand you correctly what you seem to want to do seems counter intuitive.

Guys,
Sorry to waste your time. The reason I couldn't create the WAVE link of the Spline was that I had a filter set to "Feature Curve". I opened up the filter to "Infer Curves" and was successfully able to WAVE the Spline in.
Thanks.
