Hello everyone

ALIVIO_x0lb8a.jpg

Looking at this figure, I have the following questions:
1. Is the piping arrangement shown in the picture correct? the connection to the secondary head should not be at 45 °?.
2. In this type of system of closed discharge PSV, should the reaction force be included?
3. In open systems, the reaction force is usually applied to the first elbow of PSV outlet, in this case, would it be applied to the tee that connects to the header?

I appreciate the help.

For the critical relief system, the Engineer may perform a CFD for the relief system per process condition and piping material used on PSV discharge pipe, and the main/secondary headers. It may be useful to determine the branch piping configuration, the proper pipe support and anchor, etc., to resolve your three questions.
