In AMS 2774, does anyone know what the metallurgical reason for the higher annealing temperature at 2050 F temperature for alloy 625 if brazing will follow? Normally, annealing would be at 1900 F, but footnote 9 in rev G requires a 2050 F anneal if high-temperature brazing is to follow.

If you anneal 625 below 1900F you do not dissolve the stabilizers.
With high temp brazing the temps are often 1900-2100.
And they want you to solution anneal prior to the braze so that you don't use the braze cycle as your anneal and end up with non-uniform results.
Get the correct microstructure first, then braze.
