An existing OH centrifugal pump (approx 150 HP) is being relocated to a new location in the plant. Has anyone successfully reused an existing baseplate (chipping out the existing grout and repouring in a new spot)?
My gut tells me it will not save any money vs. purchasing a new baseplate from the pump manufacture. I would compare this situation with reusing pipe supports that have been grouted in place (which I've never seen done), except pumps are precise equipment that must be aligned within thousands of an inch.
