should i chose black pipe nipples for gas piping 1

i have shifted to a new home and wondering which piping connection will suits best for my requirement. I have been using black pipe nipples from shanghai rolling threads since past 2 years and it worked perfectly fine for me. It just need to ask that either black pipes works exactly the same for water piping or should i choose some other option.

Black steel pipe is acceptable for gas pipe, but I would not use it for water pipe, nor is it allowed in the International Plumbing Code.

Black pipe would start leaking from corrosion within a few years of water service.

Using Galvanized on gas can result in zinc debris ending up clogging a valve or nozzle in your gas appliance.

Use copper for potable water. It is anti-microbial and is a proven winner.

As a side note, I grew up in a house with galvanized and black steel pipe for water and gas. No problems that I remember.

Some areas allow galvanized pipe for gas service as well.
