Steel requirements for concrete

ha there,
i was wondering what is the max-steel requirements for a reinforce concrete beam, that is 8"x14".

As per ACI-318 it is 200/Fy so for 60 ksi min reinforcement will be 200/60000*8*14=.37 inch^2 i.e. 2 1/2" dia bar.

While as per BS-8110 it is .13% so min reinforce ment required is .14 inch^2 but normaly we not go for less than 1/2" dia i.e. #4 bar in beam. so still have to use 2-#4 bar.

Please not that above steel is for tension, for compression side theoriticaly no rinforcement is required but to tie the stirups hanger bar is provided and again normal practice is to use #4 bar so we will come up with two top and two bottom bar.
