the exist structures beams are offset vertically.
A simple structural 6 “ steel column would be 15 feet long . The exist conditions will not allow a single column to be installed in that house.
I have researched splices and bolted plates which do not seems to the safest way .
Creating a precast interior column on new footing reduce the height of steel column to be installed.
any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. searching the web has been a big disappointment.
