Surface temperature issue

Hi,

I'm doing a model about heat transfer in Abaqus. I found that for the component I had, the internal temperature simulation match well with the actual experiment results. but when I try to match the surface temperature, the error becomes large, Abaqus seems to overestimate the surface temperature. The component is a heat sink and it is under natural convection. Does anyone have some thoughts on this? Is CFD software required to achieve good surface temperature estimation?

Thanks,
Danny

Are you using convection with a film coefficient? In that case, it sounds like the film coefficient is wrong. You could change it until the temperatures match. Then see if the new values are reasonable. If so, then your experiment is too sensitive to it and you'll need a more accurate way to estimate it - like CFD.

Hi,

you could have a look at .They offer cloud-based simulations, you have to pay nothing and have no problems with licenses since there are none!

Feel free to check it out. Maybe you could do a benchmark for Abaqus-SimScale or get some impulses from the forum there.

Cheers!
