I am a long time SW user. I recently did a clean install of SW2016 on a new computer. All of the default settings are therefore original SW settings.
One of the things that is frustrating me is when I import a dxf file. The dxf file was always imported previously in other SW versions so that the center of the file was perfectly centered on the origin. With my new SW2016 installation, it is very close but not always perfectly centered on 0,0. the amount that it is off is random but its small like 0.00000021, 0.00000003 and I have to do a move to get it back on 0,0.
Is there a setting that I am missing? I know its not the dxf files because in other versions of SW this was never a problem. Its frustrating me. I am now correcting 20 to 30 sketches a day this way and I could be spending my time more efficiently.
On a 2nd question...if you permit me. This is a problem I have had with SW now for 15 years so its not new but there must be a better way. Sometimes when I open a dxf file in a part sketch I just want to take it, copy it and then insert the sketch onto a plane on some other part. If I highlight the sketch (in sketch mode) copy then go to the new sketch in the other part file, click on its origin then paste, I never get the sketch to enter right on the origin. Sometimes its off a lot and I have to move the sketch. Is there a different technique to doing this that will get it on the origin every time. BTW the original dxf file and sketch began centered on its origin.
