United Flight from Denver to Hawaii blows engine on takeoff 12

Flight was able to land in Denver. No injuries reported. It was a Boeing 777.

But then you could say that about ANY civil settlement. Tell that to the Vietnam vets who were doused with Agent Orange, or the 9/11 first responders who breathed asbestos while trying to rescue and recover the victims in the Twin Towers, or the people who's health was destroyed at Love Canal.

Yes. Just tell them to stop doing bad things. Then we all can live long and cheap. They are making all of us pay for their bad deeds. They are happy to do that. Fortunate are the few that actually get a chance to take them to court. They put asbestos in the baby powder FGS.

...an old joke from 50 years back... a four engined plane is travelling and one of the engines fails... the pilot comes on the PA and notes that an engine has gone and they will be delayed 15 minutes... a little later another engine goes... and the pilot comes back on and says a second engine has failed and they will be delayed 1/2 an hour... A little later a third engine goes... the pilot comes back and states they will be delayed an hour... and a passenger pipes up and says, I hope the fourth engine doesn't go... else we will be up here all day.

Well, if that turns out to be the case, and they prevail in court, that will spell the end of windows in airliners. I see it coming already, for many reasons, but as a passenger, I don't like it. At any rate, I've got maybe 15 years of airline travel left in me, just keep the windows until then, please.

The problem is within a legal system that let's frivolous cases prevail.
Put the hood down and let the lawyers worry about that part.

I be quite happy to black list the lawyers as well.

Must admit I have thrown a few of them off aircraft and been threatened with all sorts. Only one took it further and I think they ended up in their professional conduct court over what they tried to do and got burned there. All over overweight hand baggage and the cabin crew refusing to lift it into a locker and off loading it to the hold and swearing at her.

Lol at comparing this incident to the 9/11 first responders and agent orange sufferers. There's an epidemic in this country of people trying to "get theirs" over any little incident. The number of ambulance chaser lawyers in any major metropolitan area tells the story.

If I was on that plane, I'd be thankful United got me to the ground.

Of course, but the lawyer wasn't on the plane and so far he's got nothing making it very difficult to pay for the Maserati.

I am sure United has a few lawyers of their own. And there more than a few slip and fall lawyers in Denver.

Just turn it over to your insurance company and let them figure it out. That's what you pay them for.

I don't know of much good comes from thing falling from the sky, except may be people who do it for fun, and pay.
