vendors for tube conveyors/pipe conveyors

please help me in indentifying the vendors who can manufacture tubular/ pipe conveyors in India, for transporting slime/coal material through it over 33 m conveying distance.

what i understand is that the above tube conveyor is a multi-roll belt conveyor, with rolls arranged on the tube circumference and that the conveyor is totally enclosed/dust proof to the outside ambient atmosphere.

I have seen these tube conveyors in South Africa. They often advertise in the Bulk Solids Handling magazine.

Try calling the University of Wollongong - Bulk Solids Handling unit at

http://www.uow.edu.au/eng/bmh.

They should know the Vendors operating in India.

Alternatively search under Bulk Solids Handling on the web. Sites such as

may give you a lead.

Even a direct call to a conveyor Vendor, such as Prok Technical Department will help.

a)the construction of pipe conveyor and
b)how the material actually gets conveyed. Does it require any compressed air.
c)what all parameters are important for complete specification of pipe conveyor.

The design is as you wrote yourself, belt is beeing guided with rollers, to make the belt round (pipe shaped)
loading an unloading is done as on a normal belt conveyor.

No use for compressed air, works as a normal conveyor, but without any spills and dust

About parameters and any technical stuff, sorry i dont know much about that, i was in charge of production.
But try to take a look on:

am sure they have some articles about the technical details.

The conveyor is a form of pipe conveyor. It comprises a wide belt which is guided to form a 360 deg cover with itself, by use of 6 idlers - 3 bottom troughing idlers and 3 top cover idlers. They are featured in Bulk Solids Handling Vol 22 (2002) No 3.

The following are vendors

As a rule of thumb they cost twice the cost of a conventional troughing belt conveyor. Worldwide the conveyors are less than 100 m in length and the carrying capacity is less than 100 t/h.

There is another kind of conveyor which has been called a tube conveyor. In this type of conveyor, a conventional conveyor belt is used, but the belt has rubber only on the load side of the belt, the back side being some kind of fabric so it can slide easily.

The conveyor frame is a steel tube, and the belt runs in the bottom of the tube. Power is supplied to the belt in the conventional manner with a head pulley. The belt returns to the feed end of the conveyor outside the conveying tube, supported by return idlers, and perhaps in another tube.

This kind of conveyor can convey dusts like cement without exposing the cement to the environment, or the environment to the cement.
