Hi,
I am still new to nx in many areas. Of late I am trying to understand more of wave linking.
Still I am struggling to understand fundamental necessity of wave linking?
Without wave linking I see that the assembly gets updated when the parent is modified.
If that happens by default, why do we need to wave link the comp.
Very basic question, I guess. Pls bear with me.

It sounds like you have no idea whatsoever what WAVE linking is used for. With that in mind, may I suggest that before you start using this function that you actually take some classes in learning the basics of NX. Either that or find someone close to you who can provide some mentoring. If you purchased NX from Siemens contact the local office. If it was an authorized distributor, contact them.
