I am wondering if anyone has a solution for weld symbol sizing? I have done a search and came up with a couple searches thread559-136847 being one and have the same problem described, the weld symbols are to long and I would like to shorten them. The scaling is correct, its just the length is a little to be desired.

I am using SolidWorks 2008 SP5.0 if that helps any.

Cheers!

I also had that question go unanswered here thread559-190194 .

After researching some welding specs (I think AWS something or other), my understanding was that the dimensions of the weld symbols were supposed to be fixed relative to the real world. I.E. on any properly plotted drawing they were supposed to be an inch long or whatever (if you printed your A as A, B as B, C as C etc.

I came to the conclusion that Solidworks tries to conform to the drawing specs as best as they can and that is why you can't change the sizes other than text.

Thanks ATDENGINEERING,

I figured as much, being that I had tried pretty much everything to make it smaller. I just was double checking in case I missed something.
