we are in Thermal Power plant construction. we have one doubt.
Divisional platen super heater coils (Material -SA 213 TP 347H) - dia 44,5 x 6.4 mm thick .
After start up the boiler and worked for quite some time we have observed that the locks between the tubes dis locked and came out.
we want to replace these locks with new locks (material - SS). we have observed water inside the tubes. hence we did a Mock up on same material welded with same locks (putting water inside the tube and locks welded out side- all parameters simulated) and checked for Micro and hardness- No changes observed when compared to parent materials.
Is it OK or we have to check any other parameters?

You are referring to water backing during welding. Yes, this is permitted and what you have tested has been done many times in Power Plants with no issues.
