Hey guys,

I'm new to the site and was wondering if anyone knew of a good HVAC load software. I've used CHVAC but I'm wondering if there is a better one (i.e. Trane Trace). Thanks in advance.

I use carrier Haps; I like it but it is the only software I have tried. I know other engineers who like Trane trace.

Trane Trace is pretty powerful but also somewhat finicky in my opinion. I like it though, you can put a lot of detail in your loads if you want to.

I use eplus from the DOE. You can just use design days but the real beauty of it (apart from being totally free!) is the weather file runs.
You can use google sketchup to check your input files (ie see the building) and use 'purchased' heating and cooling for simple load calcs.
On the other hand the lack of user interface is a pain, in that case buy design builder for speed.
