I am about to purchase a new workstation and graphics card and would like some advice. I work with rather large assemblies and have had issues with my current work station. After asking some colleagues their opinion of what is most important I hear 64 bit system, good graphics card, speed of hard drive, and as much ram as you can get. I have chosen the following: HP Z800 with an Intel Xeon Six-Core E5645 (2.40 GHz, 12MB cache, 1333MHz memory) Chipset Intel 5520 (Dual) 6GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Unbuffered RAM Internal drive 300 GB 15000 rpm SAS and an Nvidia Quadro 4000 graphics card. Do I need the six core system? Will I have issues with my server and other workstations being 32 bit systems?
