    Max Cut Depth in CAM

I am indeed looking for the minimum Z in the toolpath. Could you please direct me to the "NX CAM" forum? Thanks Beforehand! Fredrik

    Max Cut Depth in CAM

Hi All! I have done various searches here on this forum but have been unable to find this information... How can I find the maximum cutting depth in a particular tool path so that I can incorporate that data into my shop documentation? I am currently running 64bit NX7.0, soon to...

Posting Helical Milling with G2/G3 Motion

Thank you Ashley! No wonder I could not find it in my post! lol

Posting Helical Milling with G2/G3 Motion

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Thanks Jaydenn. I love simple solutions... One follow up question though? I'm not sure where it is you are telling me to set the ourput to "Circular-Perp to TA". Could you point me in the right direction please? Thanks Beforehand!

Posting Helical Milling with G2/G3 Motion

Clarification! The 'Z' word does not really indicate the pitch, but instead the actual Z-level at the finish x,y coordinates...

Posting Helical Milling with G2/G3 Motion

Is there a way to get the post to output helical motion with the G2/G3 words where a 'Z' word indicates the pitch? Ex; G2 X1.0 Y1.0 Z-.5 I-1. J-1. Thanks!

Post Builder not allowing access to...

I,J & K enable me to make much more efficient pecking cycles. Where I is the initial pack depth (which mean I can eliminate "air" drilling to clear my initial clearance plane), J and K being the reducing and minimum values enable me to utilize the extended drill depth capabilities while...

Post Builder not allowing access to...

Thanks Everybody, Sound like I'm in a little over my head for now then. Guess we'll stick with my workaround untill I get a chance to go to the Post Builder class unless I can get my hand on some further documentation... :) I hope you all have a great weekend!

Awesome John! Thank you so much!

    Outputting G84.2 in post...

Everything I tried inside PB is making all my 'motion' G variables have decimals and I don't need that... Unless I'm missunderstanding you, I think changing the mom variable may be the way to go. I'm assuming I have to manually edit a file, but where do I find this file and what is it's name?

Post Builder not allowing access to...

As far as I can tell by reading the online documentations, there are only three mom variables/expressions available by default: $mom_cycle_step1, $mom_cycle_step2, and $mom_cycle_step3. What I am trying to accomplish accessing the values I enter under 'Cycle Parameters-> Step Values...

Post Builder not allowing access to...

Yes, I can change the leader to whatI wish, but it won't let me read the value from step 4 thru 7 where I define the Step Values in my drilling cycle parameters. It is the $mom_cycle_step4 command that is not working... By default, the post I am working with is using $mom_cycle_step1 for the...

    Outputting G84.2 in post...

Hello, I am trying to change the tapping cycle in my post to output G84.2 for rigid tapping as opposed to the default G84 does anybody have any suggestions as to how to accomplish this? Thanks Beforehand!

Post Builder not allowing access to...

Hello, I am in the process of customizing my post and adding I,J,K, & P variables to my drill deep & drill chip break cycles. I,J, & K no problem! I added them by using user defined expressions and the following: $mom_cycle_step1 for I, $mom_cycle_step2 for J, and $mom_cycle_step3...

    Transforming objects in Manufacturing...

John! Thank You so much! I feel like an idiot for not think of that myself but you have no idea what headache you just made dissapear for me! I thought that function would basically only disable editing of the tool path... Thanks.

    Transforming objects in Manufacturing...

Is there a way that I can "lock" the tool path so that NX doesn't recalculate it? Here is my scenario: I will make a single cavity prototype mold for our customers to approve. After they approve it, I will make a production mold which will have somewhere between 4 and 1000 or so of that...

    Milling this kidney shape

I'm new at NX fur sure but if you change the Drive method to Area Milling and set it to project on part it gets nice... I'm guessing John is right about streamline but I haven't got that to work yet... (Didn't mean to hi-jack your answer John...) PS! If this don't work in NX4, I appologize...

    Max Cutting Depth...

Thank You Again! Yes, You are right, utimately I do want it in shop docs but untill I can get that straightened out I needed to at least get the information, even if I have to do it manually so to speak... I know where to look now! I sure do appreciate it.

    Max Cutting Depth...

So there is not a way for me to measure specific points on the the displayed toolpath? I guess I could make an IPW throught the Tool Path Verification and measure on it but that seems like a convoluted process... As far as the BBS you mentioned I do not know about it. Can you give me...

    Max Cutting Depth...

How can I find out how deep any given tool is actually cutting, for shop documentaion purpouses? I got the parameters from the tool specification but I also need to know and document the deepest point the tool will reach in each program... Thanks Beforehand!
