The standard is clear that the Vendor shall be responsible for the design of the supports - with or without PTFE on the slide bearing saddle - and the Purchaser for the design review.

If test medium is water, pay special attention to the chloride content and SRB bacteria count of the hydrotest water and lay-up the system after hydrotesting. Poor hydrotest & lay-up procedures for stainless steels might result in MIC and SCC.
Consider too the access for construction or maintenance equipment between the proposed LPG pipeline and the existing HC pipeline. As a safety precaution, excavate away from the existing pipeline.
Do you mean slide bearing support?
Yes, horizontal exchangers shall be fixed on one saddle and free to move in the longitudinal direction at the other saddle.

Considering tie-in design is in place - that is, location, piping material class and valve specifications are defined. The next step is to prepare the Method Statement which comprises of P&IDs, isometric drawings, SIS, procedures [isolation, depressurization, draining, cleaning, tie-in execution...
A typical valve data sheet will give you information pertaining to the valve design and materials. The design section may show the operating data, valve type/sub-type, pressure class, size, end connections, operator type, design standard, etc. On the other hand, materials section may show your...

The straight pipe run upstream (ex. 5D) and downstream (ex. 2D) of check valves is required to make sure that there are no sudden cross-sectional changes (by tees...
We have drain (normally closed) and pressure instrument connections in the straight pipe run upstream and downstream of check valves. Do these fittings (ex. weldolets, reducing tees) cause turbulent flow? What mathematical formula will prove the configuration is turbulence-free?
Regards,
Branch connections (i.e. for drain and vent connections) on reducers, elbows and tees are discourage but is not prohibited; however, the Designer must prove (i.e. by calculation) that the design is safe.
As far as I understand, industry code/standards allows up to one-thread less to consider flange bolt & nut to be fully engaged.
Thank you for all the inputs.
@ Duwe6: 1.5 mm thk Micarta insulation sheet is available in the storehouse; we are using it to insulate SS piping resting on clamped shoe supports. Can we use the said insulation sheet as substitute to the thick Pikotek washers?
During installation of a SS control valve it was found that the hex nut is in contact with the body of the control valve. This happened because an insulating gasket (i.e. dissimilar material and raw water service) is used in the flanged connection; thereby, it increased the bolt length causing...
NFPA 12 requires the installation of pressure relief device in closed piping sections of the fixed CO2 extinguishing system. My question is: Does the standard requires a block valve in the relieving path of the pressure relief device?
