how do you boot your computer?
try to boot from a clean floppy disk and also check your computer for viruses (important!!!)
if it is clean from viruses then run the format command fron a floppy and not fron the hard disk. you can use a win98 boot disk for that.

that software is supposed to be able to run various tests on your computer. i haven't tried the new version and therefore i can't have an opinion. you can download a trial version from www.symantec.com. I think it's fully working for 30 days or so.
