Resetting/removing all display properties in an assembly

So, it seems that I have found a solution. If I select a body and make sure that the 'Apply to all faces of Selected Body' under the display properties tab is checked, the changes to take affect! ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at me, looking at you

Resetting/removing all display properties in an assembly

Thank you all. This does however not seem to resolve my problem. When I now want to assign different colours to objects, the changes seem to have no effect. I have tried this both in the assembly by selecting solid bodies and trying to change their colours and also by making particular...

Resetting/removing all display properties in an assembly

I have an assembly where various parts have been assigned various different display colours. Is it possible to remove all these properties in the entire assembly in one go? Regards ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at me, looking at you

Setting preference for which surface gets displayed when surfaces intersect

That works perfectly. Thank you very much. ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at me, looking at you

Setting preference for which surface gets displayed when surfaces intersect

Hi Kapil, Thank you very much. Firstly, I am not really managing to understand how to implement the filters, it seems like even though I select different colours, they are taking no effect in the assembly. Secondly, I am not sure it is the correct approach because I actually want both colours...

Setting preference for which surface gets displayed when surfaces intersect

Using NX 9. When I do boolean operations to add components like windows onto a body for visualisation purposes, there seems to be conflicts in which of the components actually gets displayed, which results in 'ugly' surfaces, as seen in the attached image. Is there a way to set which component...

Fillet in skecth does not snap to any feature

Thank you Ronald, That was exactly what I was looking for. Michael ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at me, looking at you

Fillet in skecth does not snap to any feature

Hi John, Thank you very much, that is handy. I however want to have even more control of where the 'control point' of the fillet is placed (not the fillet radius). With this I mean that if you insert a fillet by hovering the mouse near the vertex inside the two edges and both edges get...

Fillet in skecth does not snap to any feature

When I am in sketch mode and insert a fillet, the cursor does not snap to any curve or point in the sketch. This is quite frustrating as I don't necessary want to specify a radius for the fillet. Is there a obvious reason for this to be do and is there a way around it? Thanks in advance...

    Boolean opperations on surfaces

Hi Anthony, Yes, thank you, I see it is quite simple. I need the bodies to be surfaces. Is it possible to extract the surfaces of the bodies after the boolean operations? I'm sure it is, I will give it a go. Michael ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at...

    Boolean opperations on surfaces

Attached is a simple model of two intersecting sheet bodies. I want to know whether it is possible to eliminate all surfaces located in the intersecting volumes between the two sheet bodies and basically be left with only that which you can see from the outside of the surfaces? I have tried a...

Automatic parameter adjustment to match some criteria

Thank you Mr Baker, that is a very cool demonstration of the functionality. I managed to solve my problem using that approach as well. ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at me, looking at you

Automatic parameter adjustment to match some criteria

Is the spreadsheet function you are talking about the one you access through 'Expressions'? Because I think a normal excel spreadsheet can only update an excel function through goal seek, or will it be able to go back and forth between NX and excel to reevaluate the volume after every iteration...

Automatic parameter adjustment to match some criteria

Thank you. I believe the spreadsheet goal seek method will work the easiest. ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at me, looking at you

Automatic parameter adjustment to match some criteria

I am using NX9. I want a body to have a certain prescribed volume by automatically adjusting some parameter. Is this possible? I suspect it might have something to do with the 'Requirements' function in parameters? But I am not sure how to implement it...

    Cleaning up an imported file

Thank you for your inputs, but non of the recomendations work unfortunately. The synchronous delet face just gives 'Delete failed because the remaining faces cannot close the area left after deleting the selected faces'. Export-->Heal Geom also yields no significant result. Join Face doesn't...

    Cleaning up an imported file

Hi SDETERS I am using NX9. If I use the Delete Body command simply deletes the entire body. The body is a solid, so if I delete the body, I am left with nothing. ------------------------------------------ Here's looking at you, looking at me, looking at you

    Cleaning up an imported file

I have a perfectly smooth solid body that was imported from a Parasolid. The problem is that the body consists of a bunch of different surfaces, or artifacts (the body is actually a solid body, so it is not technically surfaces, but it looks like that). I want to use this body for CFD but the...
