    Solid Body & Design Table

I have a part weldment. Inside I have 3 bodies. Each body has is cut list-item property like description, weight. Can I link those properties into a design table? I am runing SW 2006 SP 3.0 Sorry for the confusion CorBlimeyLimey Thanks you for your answer

Does anyone know if it is possible to link the property of a weldment solid body cut list into a design table?

    ID nuber of part missing

Thank you SBaugh for your answer. I deleted the part with the missing id, and inserted it again. It came with an id <5> since I was having 4 parts. The thing is that now I have 4 parts in my assembly with the following id <2>, <3>, <4>, <5>. No id <1> I don't thing it is important.

    ID nuber of part missing

I opened an assembly in witch I had 4 identical parts. When I looked at the part one the id is missing, in the assembly tree I can see the part name <> no id number. The second part I see the part name <2>. My problem is that I want to control the configuration of part 1 through a design table...

    Problem with sketleton sketch

I found out the problem. If you create the location dimension for the (point 1) from the point to the (line 2). You get the point to be in the fourth quarter when changing the angle from 90 to 270, or the point in the third quarter for 271 degree. If you create the location dimension for the...

    Problem with sketleton sketch

Working life Thank you for you comment I made a mistake on my first message At 90 degree the point is in the first quarter. At 270 the point is in the fourth quarter. At 271 the point is in the third quarter. If you want I can send you the assembly.

    Problem with sketleton sketch

I invite anybody that will work with skeleton sketch to do that 5 minutes test, and try to understand what is going on. 1) Create a sketch (sketch 1) on the top plan in an assembly. 2) On that sketch draw a circle (5 “ dia.) That is coincident with the origin. 3) Draw a vertical line (line 1)...

    ERROR MASSAGE

No all the files are on my hard drive or on the server, I just try to save them after working on them.

    ERROR MASSAGE

Since SW 2005 SP 1.1 I get the massage "unexpected file" when I save some assembly or drawing. I click ok, the file finish to save and closed. Does anybody have an idea?

    dependant parts

In context parts and equations are not stable in SW.
  13. tchouk

    dependant parts

Another way is to have the features of part (B) going to vertex of a layout sketch in part (A.). The two parts must have the same origin. Use the (3) plans from each part to mate coincident.

    Equations bug

The problem is for a component pattern only sorry. Not feature pattern.

    Equations bug

No but I called SolidWorks company and they told me that they knew that issue.

    Equations bug

Never rename a linear pattern feature dimension. If you use a renamed dimension from a linear pattern feature in an equation you are in trouble. When editing the feature of a linear pattern, the names of the renamed dimension return to D1 automatically & the equation cannot be solved.

    Driving Sketch Better than equation

I never said that the DT would be in the assembly. I only use DT in parts.

    Driving Sketch Better than equation

I know, the goal is not to change them but it is to use them as impute value for your other parts. It means that you can drives a assembly by one part by using driven dimension in design table.

    Driving Sketch Better than equation

Did you know that driven dimensions could be used as an impute values for a design table.
  20. tchouk

    Driving Sketch Better than equation

You think that is extreme check this out! Now that you have those 3 driving sketches (top, front & write) you can create a design table that drives your driving sketches. In other words when you want to change something you look only in one place your design table.
