Kenat: can you elaborate on the "3GB Switch"? I had ST2 give me the low memory error yesterday with <3 gigs used total. On a related note, is Solid Edge 64 bit capable of using more of the 8 gigs I have available?

I wish there were an edit button on this forum. I got the function part figured out... just not how to edit it right @ the dimension like in traditional modeling.

Also, I can't figure out how to make one dimension a function of another.. i.e. Length = width*2. The variables are even locked in the variable table. :mad:

So... how do you turn relationship colors ON when sketching in synchronous? The button is either not there, or clicking on it does nothing.

Working on a single monitor is just downright painful. On V20, working on dual monitors is really nice, as you can move ALL toolbars and the edgebar to a 2nd monitor (freeing up a TON of model space) and still have enough room for web browser/spreadsheet/other document. ST2 forces you to keep...

Well, we picked up Simulation... its a waste so far. Everything we wanted it for seems to be an exception... can't do Traditional parts, can't do traditional assemblies, can't do a weldment, can't do a frame, etc. I converted a bunch of stuff to synchronous and I'm still fighting with it...

Anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? Its not hard to turn them back on (why aren't they ALWAYS on anyway?), but its annoying as hell.

Solid State Drive. Much faster to read/write/search. I do cad @ home off a flash drive... but I'm betting that's not quite the same as the new internal SSD setups.

I do find that restarting often helps. This is a 64 bit machine with 8 gigs of memory, but < 4gigs were used - that's why I thought I had plenty available.

Its a 20+ page draft... copying everything would be quite tedious. I checked my memory and was using < 4 gigs. I ended up just eating the lost time and opening the previous save. Guess its time to register with GTAC and start reporting all of these errors I'm having.

Does anyone have any links to animation tutorials/instructions? This particular animation is complete (and looks like crap), but in the future I'd like to have something better - something to do with personal pride. The SE help file doesn't provide much help.

Thanks, I switched to a non-gradient background, but now SE crashed and is being a general pain in the ass. I haven't been this frustrated with the software in quite some time. Will report back when I can actually get it to do something without royally @#$%ing up.

Well, looks like this thread got a tad off topic, but I could use some more help... I made an animation, but the gradient background looks like CRAP, even when I export at 100% quality uncompressed. See picture here...

burhop, hope you are kidding... V20 with all of my buttons on the right screen (home) is 10x faster to navigate than ST2 (work).

Well, I grabbed to phone to call GTAC and as I was waiting, the menus appeared while I was playing with the pathfinder. I had the pathfinder and the edit definition/edit menu separate on my 2nd monitor. When I combined the two, the menus appeared. Odd. Anyway, the animation I exported really...
