Thank you for all your input. I was able to get what I wanted. Cut a section view and before I placed the view, right click, section view tool, SHOW cut planes, check define background faces on, pick the faces you want to see, place section view. Went into settings of the newly placed section...
It did nothing. Any more info or help on how to use the offset function, or clipping planes, or whatever I need to do to get the results I need. Or come right out and tell me it can't be done......... please

When you do Info > Object on a component one of the lines in the window is "Component member in part", showing the directory where that component is coming from.

I'm doing this for a workmate. He doesn't have an account here. I create a cube the same way and it measures exactly 25.40000000000000.
We're using nx 9.0.2.5 and used block to create the cube. x=25.4 y=25.4 z=25.4 at absolute zero. I'm still thinking its in the preferences.
