Hello Everyone!
I am trying to figure out how to connect a 24VDC NPN Proximity Sensor to a 230VAC contactor with 24VDC coil. I need the contactor to turn ON/OFF with the sensor signal. I have followed the below wiring diagram but my attempts have been unsuccessful (The contactor does not switch...
@Mr.Che : Sorry for my delay in updating(We had to get down the Emergency Latching/DPDT switches)but we were finally able to test your circuity and it worked beautifully and exactly according to our requirements! The lift does not move beyond the limit switches at A and B even when the OP...
@davidbeach: Each VFD provides several different control modes that enable us to control its operation via its external terminals, For e.g 2-Wire, 3-Wire Control.
I have used 3-Wire Control mode where signals such as FORWARD Run, REVERSE Run are given through momentary NO push buttons and STOP...
Thanks so much for the feedback everyone, There’s a few questions to be answered so i will get to that first!
According to the wiring I had done, the Normally-Closed limit switches at point A and B only serve the sole purpose of stopping the Lift movement (deactivate ALL signals) regardless of...
Hello Everyone!
I have an application where I use a VFD to control a 3-Phase AC motor. The application involves a lift which is used to transfer a load from point A to B and after unloading the lift needs to return from Point B to A.
I currently am using two Normally-Open push buttons for...
Wow Mr.Che! I was really hoping that you’d see this thread since you helped me last time too to figure out the wiring for the three-wire motor! It was your diagram that I had attached on this thread and this has got to be my lucky day [2thumbsup]. Thank you so much for taking your time and...
Something like the following diagram:
Yes @waross agree with you! Just a bit confused on how I should wire the white and black wires since they change in both diagrams.
Thank you for sharing this valuable thread @itsmoked. My motor, however, does not have U,V,W windings. It is a very small motor (~25W) and I want to control its direction using a single switch. Any feedback on how I can do this based on the wiring diagram?
Hello Everyone!
I have a single-phase motor which I want to run in forward and reverse directions using a DPDT switch. The wiring diagram for both CW and CCW is shown below:
Could someone please tell me how I should do this? Any help is appreciated!
@waross thank you for your kind help! I found a wiring diagram through their website that matches the motor wire colors and this was the only one I could find. Is this diagram consistent with your theory? If so, I will try to implement it!
Hello Everyone!
We recently purchased a Speed-Control Single-Phase AC induction motor with the following specs:
Model : 51K40RGN-C (Oriental Motor)
Rated Power : 40W
Rated Voltage : 200V
No. Of Poles : 4
Rated Current : 0.5A
uF : 2.5
This motor consists of four wires (blue, black, yellow and...
@waross Sir I can confirm your description of this motor. As you stated this is a reversible motor and the direction of rotation can be changed with a single switch(Attached the wiring diagram below)
www.jaaris.com
small update : I contacted the Oriental Motor USA technical division and they informed me that I cannot control the speed of this particular model. There are however other speed-control models available.
@waross : definitely will use @itsmoked post as a guide for all future purchases! :)
Thank you all for your great feedback! I'm learning alot via this platform [smile]. We are currently using this motor for a project which requires this motor to run at a lower speed. This motor comes equipped with a gearbox (Model: 4GK25K) but the speed still is very high. I was hoping for a...
@3DDave Sir from what I know it is not advisable to use a single-phase VFD for single-phase IM since these motors are wound differently than a 3 phase motor.
In order to use a single phase motor with a VFD, the motor must be inverter grade, which means paying to have the existing motor rewound...
Hello Everyone!
I have a single-phase reversible induction motor with the following specifications:
Model : 4RK25GK-AUL
Rated Power: 20W
Rated Voltage: 100V
Rated Current: 0.57A
uF : 8
I am looking for a way to control its speed. Can I use a dimmer switch or a fan-speed control switch to do...
Thank you all for your kind responses! I was in the mindset that only contactors can be used to reverse the direction of motor rotation but now I have decided to use a DPDT switch :)
Very grateful for all the help, kind regards and stay safe!
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your response! The Single-Phase IM is a capacitor start motor and I have attached both the motor nameplate and wiring diagram photos.
Can I wire this motor to rotate in both...
